China has said that India must sign the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) to gain entry into Nuclear Suppliers Group (NSG).

What is NSG member country?

If a country wants to join the NSG it must sign the NPT to become a member of the NSG. It is worth to mention that India did not sign the NPT yet. So out of 48 countries just 4 countries are opposing India’s entry into the NSG….Hemant Singh.

Why India is not a member of NPT?

Despite playing an important role in the negotiations, India didn’t sign the NPT because the blatant unfairness was against our interests. In the teeth of Western opposition and sanctions, India proceeded with a peaceful nuclear explosion in 1974 and weapons tests in 1998.
