They should be measurable and indicate the teaching intentions. OUTCOMES: These describe what the learners will be able to do when they have completed their course or programme.

Why is it important for us to be informed about the different outcomes in education?

Identifying student learning goals helps faculty structure their courses, identify pedagogical strategies, and design assignments, tests, projects, class discussion, and other course elements to help students meet those goals. In so doing, course-based goals inform program learning goals.
