You can connect your mortgages, credit cards, PayPal, and as many bank accounts as you’d like, among other accounts. When you have all of your accounts connected, Mint will provide you an overview of your finances.

The data is gathered through a mixture of direct feeds and aggregation directly from web sites. So it appears that in some cases they have direct connections to the banks, and in other cases they have to log in and access the website in the same way a person would.

How does Mint get my transactions?

Transactions appear in Mint after they’ve been cleared by your bank (no longer pending) and your accounts have updated. Check if your account was migrated to a more secure connection. Check that your accounts aren’t hidden or marked inactive. There may be a temporary outage with your bank.

To help users better track and spend, Mint downloads several months of data from accounts, including transactions. Among other features, Mint allows users to track cash and ATM transactions to ensure they are keeping an eye on all of their spending.

How do I show hidden transactions in Mint?

Sign in to Mint.com and select Settings from the black bar at the top of the page. Select Hide from the left. Does Mint share your information?

If someone were to get their hands on your Mint login, all they’d be able to do is view your balances and transactions. Your full account numbers aren’t displayed, nor are your bank account or credit card usernames and passwords; the only thing that would be visible would be your email address.

Does Mint count pending transactions?

Pending transactions are used to track non-cash spending that you’ve incurred, but that has not yet posted to your bank or credit account. When your credit card is updated in Mint.com, we will try to automatically reconcile the pending transactions. We do this based on matching both the amount and the date range.
