Can you add tint to transition lenses?

Can you add tint to transition lenses?

You can tint your photochromic lenses any colour you want. Tinted lenses stay one colour all the time, no matter where they are worn.

Why are my transition glasses not working?

No, your transition lenses are working just fine. They simply just can’t react to a light source that is not present, and in a vehicle, most of that UV light has already been taken out of the equation. And, of course, open windows allow in some ambient UV light, sometimes enough for your Transitions to react.

Is tint the same as transition lenses?

Yes. Transitions lenses react quickly to changing light and darken outside in bright sunlight. As light conditions change, the level of tint adjusts to provide the right tint at the right time. However, Transitions® XTRActive® lenses do activate moderately behind a windshield as they react to both UV and visible light.

How do you make transition lenses change faster?

The Effect of Temperature If you move into a shaded area outdoors, they will stay darker longer than they would on a warm day. When you move into a shaded area when the temperature is warm outside, the molecules will be quicker to respond to the reduced UV and they will begin to lighten up more quickly.

How do you make transition lenses stay dark?

Put them in your freezer for 15 minutes. Take them out, put them in the sun for a few good minutes, let them get good and dark. Something about chlling them first activates more of the chemical in the lens, thus producing deeper tint ever after.

Why do transition lenses get darker in cold weather?

When it is colder outside you may notice that your Transitions lenses seem to get darker than they do when it is warmer. This is because the molecules move more slowly when they are cold, which means when they are cold they will fade back from dark to clear more slowly.
