The OTG Protocol does not allow charging of the HOST and use at the same time. The OTG device gets the power from the phone/tablet and sends data to the phone/tablet. Since the phone/tablet is powering the OTG device it CANNOT charge when in that “OTG mode” regardless if there is an external supply.
