1. How to Reheat Pho?

  1. FIRST, heat up your broth BY ITSELF on a stove or microwave oven until it is broiling – hot – (maybe about 3 mins in a medium size microwave).
  2. SECOND, heat up the noodles for about 1 min.
  3. THIRD, add all the condiments and protein into your reheated pho and pour the broiling hot broth over the pho.

What goes well with pho?

Noodle soup and dumplings are great friends. To balance out a bowl of pho noodle soup, add a salad. The two slaw recipes in the book on pages 141 and 142 are perfect because they can sit around after being tossed.

Are you supposed to eat pho broth?

Some pho broths suck and really need a boost. Sip the broth first (I stress this because it’s important) while you work the noodles with your chopsticks. It’s OK, even preferred, that you stick your face into the bowl while slurping.

Yes, this is normal. If you ordered pho with beef slices, it will be raw. Typically round and thinly sliced raw beef. The beef will then be placed in your hot broth and cook.

Can you microwave pho?

To reheat pho in the microwave, pour the broth into a microwave-safe bowl and cover it with some perforated plastic wrap. Reheat the pho broth until it’s boiling hot (2-3 minutes). Then pour the broth over your noodles and meat and wait 10 minutes for the noodles to separate.

Why do they give you raw meat with pho?

It is common, when preparing pho, to add raw, thinly sliced beef to the piping hot broth. That way the broth essentially cooks the beef.

Is it okay to eat leftover pho?

If the texture of the noodles is already overly mushy, I would advise either eating them or throwing them away. The mushiness will only get worse in the fridge. You can still keep the leftover broth and meat and add fresh rice noodles when you want to eat the leftovers.
