Why do we see red in violet?

We see red light from the higher drops because it is directed towards the observer’s eyes. Violet light is directed above the level of the eyes so we do not see it. In the lower drops red light is directed below the eye level and violet light is visible to the observer.

Why do we see violet?

Violet is light which has a shorter wavelength as blue. Our eyes are sensible to such wavelength, so we see (as humans) such light.

Which colour is in the upper end of the visible spectrum?

The spectrum of wavelengths we can see (visible light) ranges from 380 nm (blue) to 700 nm (red). Below this spectrum is ultraviolet, after which we have blue and at the top of the spectrum of visible light is red, after which we have infrared.
