The wire cutters will be used to crack the case. Once the case is cracked, the flat-head screwdriver will be used to pry open the case. The soft sleeve and the top loader are on stand by to protect the card when its birthed from the card case.

Are there fake PSA cards?

Another possible telltale sign of a counterfeit PSA-certified item has to do with the label found at the top of the holder. You may not be able to read it word for word, but the label on the opposite side will be visible. Sometimes, a forger may attempt to simply add a fake front to a real PSA label.

How much does it cost to fat a card graded by PSA?

PSA grading costs range anywhere from $20 per card all the way up to $10,000 per card, depending on the value of the card, the age of the card, how many cards you’re submitting at one time, how fast you want the turnaround to be, and other factors.

Does PSA damage cards?

A PSA Fair 1.5 card’s corners will show extreme wear, possibly affecting framing of the picture. This would include damage such as the removal of the back layer of the card or an entire corner. The centering must be approximately 90/10 or better on the front and back.

How can you tell if a PSA Card is real?

According to PSA, their preferred method of determining the authenticity of their graded cards is to hold the label in front of a bright light. Once this is done, the label’s text should be deciphered by the naked eye. If not, there’s a chance the PSA slab is a fake.

Can you go to PSA in person?

July 2021 Update: PSA has just announced they will be grading cards in-person at the 2021 National Sports Collectors Convention. Please see the announcement here, but to summarize, fees will start at $250 per card. PSA will be encapsulating all sizes of cards including thick memorabilia/patch cards.”
