It’s there that the stage is set for the final episode. Light has Near cornered. Near had made a plan to swap out Mikami’s notebook for a fake, but Light saw through that and, through a trademark Death Note convoluted plan, made it so Mikami actually had the real notebook hidden. He’s won.

Could light have defeated Near?

Here is what I want the ending to be if Light won in the Death Note. After killing every criminal on Earth and scaring people so badly that they don’t break the law anymore, Light will write his name on the Death Note and end his life as a person who killed others. But the real ending would be that he kill everyone cause nobody is perfect.

Why didn’t light win the Battle?

I’ve had a read of the answers that were given, and none are them are actually why Light didn’t win. It’s got nothing to with him being right or wrong (because thats for the audience to decide), but the actual reason Light lost was because of Teru Mikami. Lets give some context.
