Why are suit armholes so low?

Why do store-bought OTR suits even have low armholes? The main reason that many off-the-rack stores produce suits with low armholes is because those suits have more oval shaped armholes. This allows more people to be able to fit their arms into them. It also makes it easier for people to put on the suits.

How high should suit armholes be?

Ideally, you should have two to three fingers space between your armpit and the bottom of the armhole, anything more than this and the armhole is too big.
