Do FLIR cameras need calibration?

Do FLIR cameras need calibration?

FLIR cameras are designed and factory calibrated for accurate temperature measurements and thermal imaging. Without proper maintenance and calibration, accurate measurements cannot be assured. The calibration of each FLIR camera model is unique.

Can you calibrate a thermal camera?

Unfortunately, the answer is no: to maintain the accuracy of your thermal camera, you will need to send it in for regular calibration by the camera manufacturer. We recommend this be done annually.

How do I calibrate FLIR one?

It is also possible to manually activate the shutter by tapping the Calibration icon in the upper right on the main screen. Calibration can be switched to manual by turning off Automatic Calibration in the Settings Menu. The FLIR ONE Pro is tuned to align thermal and visual images at a distance of 3 meters.

How can I test my thermal camera?

If you have two thermal cameras in your posession, you can follow this approach.

  1. Step 1 : Set up the camera. Power the cameras. Let both of the cameras stabilize for 30 minutes in the same measurement environment.
  2. Step 2 : Compare the results. Aim both of the cameras at the warmest uniform object you can find.

How do you reset a FLIR one?

To reset your FLIR ONE, please follow these steps:

  1. Connect the camera to the charger and wait to see the LED indicating it is being charged (Charger output needs to be 5V and at least 1A)
  2. Wait for 1 hour until the battery is fully charged.
  3. Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.

What is a non uniformity correction?

Non-uniformity correction (NUC) adjusts for minor detector drift that occurs as the scene and environment change. Basically, the camera’s own heat can interfere with its temperature readings. This happens regularly in uncooled infrared cameras, but it will also happen occasionally in cooled infrared models.
