Do you have to show ID for Instacart?
Shoppers must deliver to recipients that are 21 or older. Your shopper will verify your age and scan the front and/or back of your ID when they deliver. In some cases, the shopper can also enter your information manually. Your information isn’t stored on shoppers’ personal devices.
What are the rules for Instacart?
Full-service shopper
- 18 years of age or older.
- Eligibility to work in the U.S. or Canada.
- A smartphone with Android 5.0 or later, iOS 9 or later.
- A functioning, registered vehicle.
- Vehicle insurance, in accordance with local laws.
- Can lift 30+ pounds.
- Following Instacart’s food safety policies.
Can Instacart drivers see your name?
The Instacart shopper sees your first name and your address plus any notes you might leave for the shopper like leave groceries in the garage. Any communication goes through instacart, so there can be a slight delay between responses when the shopper and the customer chat.
Can you Instacart alcohol to a friend?
Instacart currently delivers alcohol in 14 states, both from grocery stores, where allowed, but from liquor stores too. Beer, wine, & liquor are available in those areas, but recipients must show ID & cannot be visibly intoxicated. Instacart also cannot leave alcohol unattended; you must be present for delivery.
