OBS wouldn’t really be used in TV broadcasting except at the level of the smallest public access stations. I work with a small public access station, and they don’t use it at all– they use specialized hardware and software that is designed for broadcast TV.

How do I use audio channels on OBS?

Setup

  1. Settings > Audio : just select a channel different from Mono or Stereo in the Channels list. Click OK to the Warning pop-up and restart OBS.
  2. Settings > Output :
  3. IMPORTANT WARNING: make sure to select the same channel layout as your input (if you have a 4.1 audio source do not select 7.1).

Can I add a third desktop audio to OBS?

In OBS Settings->Audio, you can setup the capture of 2 Windows output devices like speakers or headphones, and 4 Windows input devices like microphones or line in. If you need more than 2 output devices, you can add them as audio source.
