The answer is yes, you can apply one or all of them as long as one of those products is rated SPF 30 or greater and you apply it liberally (see what we mean by “liberal” and how to apply sunscreen here).

When it comes to sunscreen, layering it on isn’t always better. This is because layering SPF products doesn’t increase the number of active ingredients. It does, however, increase your chances of getting the right amount of sunscreen on your face.

While this will aid in keeping your face shielded from the sun’s harmful rays, many dermatologists recommend still adding sunscreen separately to your routine unless your moisturizer has an SPF of at least 30 and can protect your skin from UVB rays. “Mixing the two may alter the properties of the SPF, making it less effective.” And before we go any further, no, wearing a foundation with SPF by itself won’t provide sufficient sun protection because you probably won’t apply enough of the product to get the level of protection you need (more on that below).
