Uechi Ryu Karate is one of the most significant Okinwara martial arts styles in Japan which is named after Kanbun Uechi. It was founded in the mid 1900s and is still used effectively. It is a popular karate style in the domain of self-defense and close combat which is why it requires both flexibility and body strength.

Isshin-ryu Karate is a style that still frequently utilizes this fist formation.
