Why does FedEx ask for your name?
Why does FedEx ask for your name?
Management has us timed. Using the electronic boards, the signatures are basically unreadable so we ask for the last name of the signer for verification purposes. We also scan the parcel as we approach the delivery location and enter the name as we are going back to the vehicle to avoid any “wasted” time.
What happens if UPS tried to delivers and I’m not home?
If you’re unavailable when UPS attempts delivery at your address, UPS may deliver your package to a UPS Access Point® location near your home, where your package will be held for you to pick up for 7 calendar days. After 7 calendar days, your package will be returned to the sender as undeliverable.
Does UPS require name to ship?
Option 1: Present a government-issued photo ID, such as a Federal Electoral Institute (IFE), passport, professional or military ID. The full name on the ID must match the full name on the package label. Our application will capture your name and signature.
Will UPS deliver without signature?
If the sender has specified that an adult signature is required, you cannot authorize delivery release online. You can, however, redirect it to a UPS customer center. You could either have your package left at a UPS location, such as The UPS Store or a UPS Access Point® location, or change your instructions.

What percentage of packages are lost by FedEx?
From a percentage stand point that’s about 0.1\%-0.2\% of all packages out for delivery that day. To put some perspective on this, the center I work at puts on average about 16,000 packages out for delivery on average every day. Out of that number roughly 6–8 will be damaged.
