RGB and ARGB Headers RGB or ARGB headers are both used to connect LED strips and other ‘lighted’ accessories to your PC. That’s where their similarity ends. An RGB header (usually a 12V 4-pin connector) can only control colors on a strip in a limited number of ways. That’s where ARGB headers come into the picture.

Does RGB work with Argb?

Compatibility. RGB devices are compatible with 12V headers that have 4-pins and are present in many motherboards nowadays. In fact, more motherboards have 12V 4-pin RGB headers than the newer aRGB headers due to their lower cost. RGB 12V devices are NOT backward or forwards compatible with the 5V aRGB headers.

Where do you plug in ARGB?

The CHA_FAN or SYS_FAN header uses a different temp sensor on the mobo to guide its case ventilation fans. So, a Hub for case fans REALLY should be plugged into the CHA_FAN or SYS_FAN header. Any mobo fan header can accept the speed signal sent back to it from only ONE fan.
