Spinosaurus was a cross between T-Rex, a Great White Shark and a crocodile that had a paddle-like tail and a bony sail like structure on its back.
Spinosaurus is a theropod dinosaurs like all other Spinosaurids. What Spinosaurids did have were a set of adaptations that made them similar in some ways to crocodiles. Note the slender snout of Spinosaurids that are great for catching slippery fish as well as the pointed conical teeth just as crocodiles have.

The two creatures never existed at the same time. Since the T-Rex lived later than the Spinosaurus, it is the most well-known species of Tyrannosaurus and scientists know much more about it. However, there are only six known specimens of Spinosaurus.
