How far do you have to run in Navy boot camp?
Table of Contents
1.5 mile
All recruits arriving at the Navy’s boot-camp will complete an initial baseline fitness assessment. The assessment will include a 1.5 mile run, push-ups, and planks. Male recruits must complete the run within 16 minutes 10 seconds, the female recruits in 18 minutes 37 seconds or less.
Recruits who don’t pass their initial run will get another chance within 48 hours. But if they fail that, they’ll be sent home with an ELS, an entry-level separation from the Navy that will require them to get a waiver if they want to try and enlist again.
How is the Navy PRT scored?
Your score is determined by how many push-ups you can complete in two minutes. Resting is permitted but only in the up position. The Navy PFT score is found by averaging the scores of the three fitness events. This is worth 85 points for the curl-ups, 65 points for the push-ups and 55 points for the running event.
PRT scoring has five levels: outstanding, excellent, good, satisfactory/probationary and failure. To pass the PRT, you must score at least satisfactory/probationary in all three events.
How many miles run in basic training?
You are required to pass the basic training APFT to graduate boot camp and continue on to advance infantry training. The three PFT events are two minutes of push-ups, two minutes of sit-ups and a timed two-mile run. Your results from each event are assigned a score.
How do I skip Navy PRT?
A new rule change announced Monday will allow sailors who score an overall “excellent low” or better on the PRT — with no single event lower than a “good low” — to skip the fitness portion of the test for the subsequent cycle.
The PRT is passed when a Sailor achieves a score of probationary or higher performance standard on the PRT modalities (Push-ups, forearm plank and one cardio or alternate cardio event. Failure to so, will result in a PRT failure.
