Why do Pug’s and similar breeds of dog get so many eye problems? These dog types have a ‘flatter face’ skull conformation which results in very shallow orbits (the socket in which the eye sits) which leads to very bulgy, ‘sticky-out’ eyes.

If you cannot reach a vet or clinic within an hour or more, you may need to push the eye back into the socket yourself:

  1. Use clean hands to try to extend the eyelids over the eye.
