How was Prussian Blue discovered?

Prussian blue was discovered around 1706 when a paint maker Diesbach accidentally synthesised the product while trying to make a red lake of cochineal, using a sample of a potassium contaminated with iron. It has a strong reddish blue colour, and its importance was soon recognised by the paint industry.
